Skipton Castle Visit

Trips

Year 7 pupils have been investigating how good Medieval castles really were as part of their SEEDS curriculum. To bring their research to life, they visited Skipton Castle to investigate how a Medieval Castle could be attacked, what kind of defence could have been mounted and what it would have been like to live everyday life in a Medieval castle.

Pupils had tours around the castle, guided by the excellent volunteers, who were able to tell pupils lots of information about the history of this ancient building, including a few ghost stories as well! Pupils had an excellent day of learning and fun (although there were a few worried faces when the lights went off in the dungeon!!!!).
