Rotary Young Chef

Four students – Meg (Year 10), Josh (Year 9), Matthew (Year 9) and Faith (Year 7) were selected from a large number of entries to compete in the Bowland heat of Rotary’s Young Chef Competition. All four produced a two course meal of exceptionally high standard. The winner was Meg who will go through to the district final in January.


Starter: ‘The Allotment’ – garden vegetables & homemade flatbread with blacksticks blue and low fat cheese dip

Main: ‘Coop & Hive’ – chicken glazed in honey (from Meg’s own bees) and mustard served with cous cous and spring greens


Starter: Crab Samosa served with Salad

Main: Pickled Chicken Curry served with Pilau Rice and Homemade Naan Bread.


Starter: Seared Scallops with Leeks and Lemon Chilli Butter

Main: Rack of Lamb with New Potatoes, Pink Grapefruit and Honey Sauce


Starter: Asparagus wrapped in Parma Ham

Main: Gourmet Cajun Butterfly Chicken with Rustic Potatoes and Salad.
