Over 80 people placed their bets on favourite runners at the Bowland Race Night hosted by the Spread Eagle, Sawley recently. Cheeky Chimps ran the evening fantastically screening 8 horse races that were sponsored by the local businesses listed below.
There were 8 horses in each race that were purchased by friends, parents and staff who became the jockeys of horses with some very inventive names indeed! As the horses vied for position, there were some very competitive backers which contributed to the fun of the evening.
The last race was an Auction, where we achieved some great prices for the horses from some very persistent bidders – thank you! Half the money raised through the bets was given out in winnings, with the winning jockey of each race also winning a prize. In total the Race Night raised £930.05 for PTFA funds. We would like to say a very big thank you to all those who purchased tickets, bought horses and placed bets on the night together with thanks to the following Sponsors:
