A new state-of-the-art music and multi-media block has just been opened at Bowland High, Grindleton, Clitheroe. The £385,000 new facility has been ground breaking in more ways than one! The block is the first school building in Lancashire to be exclusively heated by a heat exchange pump which obtains heat from the ground in the field in front of the block and has very sustainable credentials.

The building is equipped with industry standard ICT kit for recording, editing and the production of a range of multi media. Adjacent to the multi media room is a music room, again equipped with a range of hi tech resources. In addition there are two practise rooms and an entrance foyer. The building is in an enviable position with extensive views capitalised by a veranda designed for outdoor performances.

Headteacher Mr Stephen Cox commented “We are delighted with this new facility and it is fantastic to see our pupils having access not only to a 21st century building and such cutting edge technology but also to one which makes a big statement about our commitment to the environment. They are incredibly enthused about the new technology and it has brought yet another dimension to learning at Bowland.”
