An exciting opportunity saw the year 8 future BTEC pupils accepting an invite to an open day at the Abbeystead estate.
During the day the pupils experienced the role of gamekeepers, the police and fire service, who all have different responsibilities in these upland areas.
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the plucking of some carefully selected game birds, which when cooked produced some excellent and tasty free samples for the pupils and staff to sample.
