Whether you are a young person looking for help for yourself or someone you know, or whether you’re a parent/carer trying to help you child find support, the Bowland Buzz Directory provides details of how to access support.

Parents/Carer Guidance

If you are concerned about your child’s well-being please follow the steps below:

  •  Contact your GP and ask for an appointment

What to expect:

The GP will assess your child. Depending on the outcome of the consultation, your child may then be refereed to ELCAS (CAMHS). https://www.lscft.nhs.uk/CAMHS

  •  Contact school and discus your concerns with the head of year

What to expect:

The head of year will invite you into school to discuss your concerns. The discussion may have different outcomes but will always offer you and your child support.

  • If you believe that your child is at immediate risk please call 999 or take your child to Blackburn A and E.

What to expect:

You child will be assessed and will see the ELCAS (CAMHS) team within 24 hours. The ELCAS team will offer a variety of support and will liaise with school.
