Uniform

Every child admitted to the school has been granted their place on the clear understanding that their parents or carers accept and apply all of our policies.

This page explains our rules and guidelines on pupil’s appearance and uniform. Bowland High considers that how pupils dress and present themselves is important; part of our role is to prepare our pupils for the world of work where appearance really matters!

We are conscious of the financial pressures on families and our uniform requirements are intended to be sensitive to these. We appreciate the support that parents offer to ensure that our policy guidelines are adhered to.

Our uniform is compulsory and must be worn correctly by all pupils at all times whether in or out of school. Pupils are ambassadors of Bowland High and are expected to dress and behave in a way that reflects the standards that we achieve academically.

Please note: skirts must be worn on the knee.  Skirts that sit above the knee are not acceptable.

The PE uniform is potentially changing this year for September 2023.  There will be more information available at the Intake Evening for the new Year 7 cohort.  Please click uniform policy to see additional items needed for PE lessons.

Please note: all pupils must have football boots and shin pads for every outdoor PE lesson.
Football boots with metal studs or blades are not allowed. Only boots with moulded studs are suitable for the 3G astro turf and also grass.
