In order to improve communication between school and home further, we have purchased a new parent portal system, TASC Insight, that we will begin using this half term.

Insight provides the same information as SIMS Learning Gateway; it is user-friendly, has a mobile application (for iOS & Android) and is compatible with all operating systems, including Windows and Apple. This will allow you to see data and information that we have for your child in school. This includes:

  • Attendance data
  • Rewards and sanctions
  • Assessment data and reports
  • Your child’s timetable

It will allow us to manage parents evening appointments through the system and eventually to log extended learning that your child has received. We will also use the system to send out key notices throughout the week that are important to your child.

Insight is an Internet-based platform which gives parents/carers secure access to the pupil’s personal data from our School Information Management System (SIMS). This information is live 24 hours a day on a user-friendly website and mobile application. Access to Insight is strictly controlled and only adults with parental responsibility will be allowed access to this data.

Insight usernames and passwords will be issued to those parents and carers with whom the child is resident and are registered as the priority one parent or carer on our system. Where parents do not live together, each parent will receive a separate username and password as long as they are both registered as having parental responsibility on our systems. Usernames and passwords will be sent via email in the first instance, if no email address is recorded your username and password will be sent to you via text or letter. Please ensure that the school is kept up-to-date of any changes to your contact details. If there is a non-resident parent who is not on our records who you believe would like to have access to Insight, please contact us.

The Insight Acceptable Use Policy document and Parent and Carer User Guide will be available on the website, by using Insight you are agreeing to the terms and conditions in the policy.

If you do not have any access to the Internet and will be unable to use this system, please notify: Mrs L Fielden, Assistant Head/CEIAG Officer/Enrichment Co-Ordinator, in writing.

If you experience difficulties logging in to Insight or any other aspect of the site, please click here to download our Parent User Guide.

Yours sincerely

Mrs L Fielden
