Indian Cooking

19 April, 2014

Year 11 catering pupils visited the Double Tree Indian restaurant in Clitheroe as part of their international cuisine research. Those who had chosen to cook an Indian meal were invited back to cook authentic Indian food with the Double Tree chefs. Pupils learnt how to select and mix spices for different curries, they saw how naan bread is made in a traditional tandoor oven and they watched a mountain of poppadoms being prepared. They cooked and ate chicken bhuna and watched as the chef demonstrated making a chicken korma and vindaloo – the braver ones amongst them even tried the vindaloo!
