Both intermediate and senior teams performed brilliantly in the District Rotary Public Speaking Competition held at Kirkham Grammar School last week-end. They will both go to the regional final to represent the district.
The intermediate team: Izzy M, George M and Dylan C were runners –up out of 11 schools. Izzy also received a certificate for best speaker.
The senior team, two of which are seasoned public speakers, having already represented Bowland in the national final: Holly S, George P and Patrick E won the senior competition, having battled against schools with sixth form competitors! George Poole was also nominated as best proposer of thanks and Patrick Enion took the prize for best chair.
A big thanks to Miss Nolan for coaching the teams.
