On 5th July 2013 at The Grand, the Performing Arts Department held its annual showcase of the talents of our students before a large and enthusiastic audience at The Grand in Clitheroe. It was a very varied production, with performers from all year groups.
There was a great variety of dance, given by GCSE students, all the dance clubs, dance academy and a guest dancer from London. Tunde Olasupo worked with the dance academy students to create an edgy street piece in two hours of very hard work. The dance academy also performed two pieces choreographed by Heather Whalley and Nigel Kirk.
We have talented singers and musicians at Bowland, and several entertained us well. Our band Collide started the show with two pieces, and Kane Taylor, Beth Ferguson, Rosa Handscomb and Callum Shaw followed. An especially warm welcome back to the stage was given to James Walsh.
Visitors who had never been to one of our shows thought it was totally professional and thoroughly enjoyable.
“A great show and an excellent end to a busy but positive week!”
