Careers Logo Competition

During lockdown, Year 8 were developing skills in Photopea, an online image creation and photo editing program.  After 6 weeks of skill development, Mrs Burns challenged them to develop a logo for the Careers Department at school.

There were a range of fantastic designs all based on the tree theme that Mrs Burns had set.

Runners Up
Kye, Ella-Mae, Maddie and Katie

Winner
Elsie

All the runners up received an Easter Egg and Elsie received a voucher.

Mrs Robertson

This fantastic winning design will be used throughout the curriculum to highlight any work that is careers related during classes. This will help pupils become aware of the link between the transferable skills they learn in their subjects and how they can enhance their career choices beyond Bowland High.

After the Easter break there will be a Future Career Friday form time. Each form will be exploring different career ideas and learning how to develop their employability skills and start feeling exited about their future career options.

Bowland  High are working with the Careers and Enterprise Company to deliver a virtual work experience world of work for Year 10.

Our pupils will watch a video presentation covering a range of career areas such as:

Creative and Digital

Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing

Visitor Economy

Energy and Environment

Construction

Hair & Beauty

Education

Pupils will then choose which career area to explore further and learn more through a range of activities. The virtual work experience will culminate in a live Q & A session with industry experts so they can get a real insight into their chosen career area.
