Photographs represent the culmination of a week’s activities celebrating the importance of reading in our lives. Everyone was asked to design a tee shirt with a literary theme to be worn on Thursday 23rd September and then in the afternoon, the whole school came out to dance and sing to an adapted version of a Black Eyed Peas song, “Gotta keep on reading”. The Head of performing Arts, Andrea Yates, had choreographed a dance that over 600 staff and pupils could perform on the yard.
The initial idea for a focus on reading had come from a U tube excerpt of a school in the USA celebrating in this way! The whole day had a fun atmosphere and it was amazing to see the variety of literature that pupils and staff were reading.
